Hilda

My decision to skip the lecture today appeared to be one of the best of the month. I just got a call from my friend that she gave up and escaped in the middle. There are some 10-15 people in the auditorium for 160. Hilda (yes, it is her real name) managed to get rid of most of her students in 2 weeks only. What a pity. The previous lectures with another teacher were something that I was truly looking forward to. Well, what can you expect from anyone called Hilda?

Investing

I had to do another book shopping yesterday. I don’t even bother to check my bank statements anymore. I would probably cry if I saw how much it cost me to be “too busy to go to library”. I never owned so many books per one semester. But at the other side I feel very responsible when I invest my money into my education. You see? I don’t speak about wasting money or sunk costs. I speak about investing. Everything is much more positive when the winter is over. I hope the return on investments will be high.

Typically me

How could I stay in bed when the spring finally came? This was the longest winter since 70’s which means the longest winter in my life! I am a daylight person. I need it. I don’t care if the sun shines or it rains as long as the night doesn’t begin at 4 p.m.
It is always like this. Any time I am 100% decided to stay at home and relax I don’t manage. Last time I made the decision to have a peaceful evening I ended up at the punk concert and came back home at 1 a.m.

Plan for this weekend

Staying in bed, with hot tea, book and laptop. I was waiting for 6 days to do this. I feel so happy now.
I even look forward learning some more Micro stuff. Last week I had a chance to realize that there are much worse subjects / books / tests. Micro makes sense, it is explained well and I can actually influence my test result.

Jsem úplně znechucená

Ta dnešní písemka byla prostě nářez. Opět mám pocit, že ať dělám, co dělám, nemůžu vyhrát. Fakt jsem se učila úplně zbytečně. Byl tam jen jeden příklad, který číselně vycházel naprosto nesmyslně, pokud by se měl interpretovat ekonomicky. Podobný vůbec nebyl ve cvičebnici. Na cvíku jsme ho sice dělali, ale tam vycházel normálně. Ještě bych brala, kdyby obě varianty byly srovnatelné, ale dát takovou vychytávku jen jedné skupině (samozřejmě té mojí)...
Že já jsem se na to učení nevykašlala! Celý týden lítám jak kretén mezi školou a prací, přecházím chorobu jen abych všechno zvládla a všechno je to úplně na *H*O*V*N*O*. No, doufám, že to byl omyl a dá nám body za postup. Ještě se pořád může ukázat jako grand a uznat, že přestřelil :) Kdybych po něm dneska mohla něco hodit, tak to fakt udělám :P

Brief comments on past few days

- I learned another cool word at work. Niminy-piminy. Yes, dictionary knows it. I rank it No. 2 in my List of favourite English words right after innocuousness.
- Being busy costs A LOT. As I have no time to go to the university library I have to buy all the books. My bank account is bleeding.

Spring starts!!!

Today at 19:25 (7:25 p.m. for some). I hope that also the spring weather comes soon ;)

Dog vs. laptop

My dog is jealous about the laptop. I definitely spend more time on blogging and checking e-mails than on playing with the teddy bear. I even suspect her that she found out about my virtual dog Kotler. Therefore we spent some quality time together yesterday :)

Ego massage

Today was the day when I officially informed my boss that I will not sign a new contract. I was quite surprised how sorry she was that I would be leaving. She was persuading me for some 15 minutes and I must say that she almost succeeded. It was a very pleasant massage of my ego. But then I remembered yesterday when I was so tired at school that I laid down on the red sofa and fell asleep with my bag instead of pillow. I just heard the passers-by laughing.
My working week is over. Friday will be great: First I will have the lesson with my favourite teacher and then I go to see Global village + all EuroXpro delegates!

No more outsourcing

If you ignore some problems long enough, they will disappear. My theory was proven right. I ignored some of the translations till today when it appeared that nobody needs them anyway. Hahaha. I am so lucky.

Yesterday I decided that the marginal utility of extra 90 minutes of sleep is much higher than the marginal utility of another 90 minutes of microeconomics lecture. Guess what... it works! I had a perfect day, mostly because me and Marťa had fun with teasing Farid, who is currently in Prague. Poor guy, I understand that he hates it here already, because he suffers a lot. It is his bad luck that he knows only Marťa and me – two evil creatures.
Even though we were so mean to him, Farid did something very special for us today. He showed to us where to find the G-point. In case you also don’t know, I upload the picture. Enjoy :)

Illusions

It is so unreal ... like a sunrise in the morning mist. In the evening you already feel that it was just an illusion.
It is his smile. It is the glance at each other’s eyes. It is the warmth in my heart when I notice him in the crowd. It is the scent of forbidden fruit...
It can be snowing outside but I already hear the song of spring in my soul.

90% of my lessons take place in the Paradise Building. No kidding. This is really the name of the newest part of our university. Someone has a good sense of humor there.

Kotler

If you scroll a bit down you will see my new puppy. His name is Kotler, but you can also call him Philip, if you like. Please feed him and play with him so that he doesn’t feel lonely when I am at work or studying.

What happens if there is water outage at the university building?

I found out today. Nobody cares that the bathrooms are closed. Nobody cares that the water is off in the classrooms. BUT the disaster is that the coffee machines are out of order. The university building was full of zombies in the afternoon. Imagine all those students without their daily dose of caffeine :) And some of the teachers looked desperate as well.

Good that I didn't skip the lecture today! I could not enjoy the fact that half of it was cancelled. Some other nice things happened today:
(1) It is already daylight at 6:40 when I leave home.
(2) Marta showed to me and Marťa that even though something looks very complicated it can be silly easy.

Dirty thoughts

I have dirty thoughts again. I would love to skip the morning lectures tomorrow. Nothing really happens if I don't go there. Or maybe ... most probably ... Marťa would kick my ass :)

I had a great day!

Yes, this is something new at this blog :) I have my favourite lesson on Friday morning. Well, the subject is not that interesting, but the teacher... He is young, not bad looking and he explains stuff well. I already had him for one subject before, he was my examiner when I was defending the bachelor thesis and he was also there at my final state exam. He brings me good luck. Thanks to all this he remembers me which is something very special at our university. When I see him I just have to smile. Then he sees it and smiles back. So I smile even more.
Even at work it was good today. New marketing materials came from the warehouse, especially gifts for customers. It really paid off that I help to the marketing people so often even when I am officially in the sales department and I could send them all to hell with their requests. They gave me almost everything. I didn’t get so many nice & useless things even for Christmas :)
The last highlight of the day was when the boss of the division came with her 2,5 years old daughter. His wife just delivered their second baby on Wednesday so he has to take care of the older girl (and he is almost never in the office) So the small French princess was dancing in the office, playing with marketing materials and doing other things for general amusement.
More days like this one, please!

Deep thoughts in public transport

Today’s traveling on tram made me wonder: Do the homeless people smell everywhere the same or are there different odors in different countries? (I was extremely unlucky in the morning and had two of them in my tram.)

Finally, it's March!

This lifestyle is not sustainable. I live mainly on coffee, chocolate and cigarettes. (Caffeine - staying awake, sugar - fast energy, nicotine – necessary to avoid psychical collapse). Sometimes I add energy drink or fast food. Well, it’s difficult to live healthy if you have no time for lunch break and you eat in the tram or during some lecture. Or there is still the option to have a lunch at 5 p.m.
BUT this hell will soon be over. At the end of THIS month my contract expires. Yes! March is here! Plus spring will come soon! I believe it even though it was snowing today :)
