Three days in a row

Me: I have no inspiration for blogging today. And I don’t want to blog about Jarda again. Three days in a row would be too much.

Mart'a: haha, right.

Me: But it is the best thing that will happen to me in near future.

Me: Which is actually quite sad.

Me: That is so sad that I should blog it.

Yes, meeting my ex will be the highlight of my next two weeks. Shoot me.

Hehehe, I did it

I SMSed him and he immediately called back.
...
He: I want to show you my reconstructed flat.
Me: Well, I wanted to suggest some public place.
He: Come on, I am a good guy for 4 years now.
Me: Eh, I remember 2 years ago when we got wasted at your place and I came home in the morning.
...
OK, this will be the first time when after meeting him I will not feel like: OMG, what did we do again?

Greetings from the past

I saw Jarda today. My high school sweetheart. I went through all the stages:
1. Damn, I hope he will not notice me.
2. Should I speak to him?
3. Returning to the past doesn’t work in our case. I should not even try it.
4. I am glad that the type of men I choose now is completely different.
5. Actually, there were times when he was quite sweet.
6. After all, he did the nicest thing ever someone did for me.
7. Should I SMS him? Maybe we could go for a coffee.

Beauty is in the eye of beholder

I saw a lot of ugly people today.
Not just plainly ugly, but in a cartoon / comics way ugly.

Success!

The only thing to do in order to become financial manager (understand: to register minor specialization) is to come early enough on the correct day.
As I really wanted it, I chose the strategy of rather coming too soon than too late. I appeared in front of the university building at 4:53 a.m. And guess what ... already eight people were there, with the first one coming at 2 a.m. The capacity was 50 people and the list was closed at 6:15. This is how we prove motivation and passion for the selected field :)
The moments before 5 a.m. when we stood together in front of the building, smoking, drinking some highly alcoholic tea and listening to the music from the laptop were just surreal. In a way it reminded me my first morning in Tajikistan. I felt like: this is impossible, I cannot be at this place, this time. Shit, how did that happen???

Ready

energy drink – yes
box of cigarettes – yes
sth to read - yes
driver to take me to school – yes

I am definitely ready to become financial manager

Goleo

Meet Goleo, mascot of the Soccer World Cup in Germany. His parents might go bankrupt. Nobody likes him. Probably because he doesn't wear trousers. Life is cruel.
I should pay more attention to my marketing lessons. There was this part about finding out what people want and producing salable goods.

Teaching Americans How to Behave Abroad

Trying to combat anti-U.S. sentiment abroad, a campaign is under way to give the "ugly American" a makeover and improve the manners of business travelers overseas.

"We are broadly seen throughout the world as an arrogant people, totally self-absorbed and loud," said Keith Reinhard, chairman emeritus of DDB Worldwide Inc. who is leading the effort through a group called Business for Diplomatic Action Inc., a nonprofit organization that tries to get U.S. companies to work to improve the reputation of the U.S. in the world.

Well, what to add? Maybe just: THANK YOU !!! I hope this will work :)

Marie

She is 5 days older than me and we live in the same house. We know each other since kindergarten. We spent a lot of time together when we were small but we never became best friends.

When I was 5 my parents used to tell me: look at her, she already knows 10 letters and you know just 6. When I was 10 they told me: look at her, she has all As and you got 3 Bs at school. When I was 13 it was: look at her she plays clarinet and you quit playing flute. A year ago, she already graduated Masters and I was still not even Bachelor. Well yeah, she was simply better in everything. She was such a good girl.

Last May we met and went for a coffee. We stayed out till eleven and got completely wasted. Wow, this good girl was drinking wine, smoking and chatting about boyfriends with me! At one moment when we were drunk enough to tell the truth I told her about how I thought she was a good girl. And this is what she replied:

When I was 5, my parents used to tell me: look at Jana, she can already count to 50 and you know just to 20. When I was 10 they told me: look at her she is at an elite primary school and you are at a normal one. When I was 17 they said: look at her, she god silver medal in karate and you achieved nothing in ballet. A year ago they said: look at her, she is traveling to interesting places and you stay at home.

That much on good girls, role-models, friendship and parents. We plan another coffee drinking for 24th May.

Pride is a stupid reason to die

My brother took me running today. He trains already for two months. The only thing that I did for my health was when I quit smoking for 2 weeks in April. It is obvious that he wanted me to join him because he decided to destroy me.
Of course my pride didn’t allow me to stop in the middle of the way. As a result I ran the same distance as 2 years ago when I was running almost every day. Not bad for a smoker, right?
OK, my lungs are in fire now and my knees are shaking, I will probably lose my voice tomorrow, BUT I didn’t tell him to stop.
BTW That song that I blogged about today is perfect for running: (a) I want to run away (b) It actives my self-destruction tendencies.

I wish I could forget

Do you know the feeling when you hear the song that perfectly fits to some part of your life that you would like to forget? It is kind of masochism when I play the song again and again and again.

Viem, vy ste tá, čo mi nepatrí
V sebe vás mám ako dávny kríž
Navíjam film pohľadov
Ktorými som vás ukradol
Viem, vy ste tá, ktorú niekto má
A stráži si podľa zákona
A riadne má v dokladoch
Ja som vás tuším ukradol

Tak ja vás teda vrátim
A nechám si len tmu
A najradšej sa stratím
Veď čakajú vás dnu
Za všetko sa platí
Tak vyjdem cez stenu
Veď ženy a kvety sa nekradnú

Mali ste hlas ako srsť z králika
No pravej láske sa však nevyká
Chodili sme záhradou
Kde som vás ukradol

Dotkli sme sa vtedy ústami
Dnes je to všetko šťastne za nami
Minulosť je pod ľadom
Prepáčte, vás som ukradol

13th week is over

This week was not about perfection but about being good enough and especially being good enough on time. Well, it seems I survived and no major failures occurred.
Right now I can already enjoy the feeling that I will never ever have any more classes on HR management if I don’t choose to, because I got 79% from this one. Also the Marketing class is something impossible fail as I need 14/50 points from the case study which is just another homework. And yeah, I passed the test 19/25 after just 3 hours of studying. Either I’m smart or damn lucky.
Since now, I will have at least 3 days to prepare for the test or exam. Luxury. Though for some of them one week will not be enough. Looking forward to 7th June when this semester should be over for me.

You thought I was kidding

when I said that the Czech Republic is one of the most freedom countries in the world. Not only we are not restricted by any religion but also our law is quite tolerant.

The Czech Republic is the only country in the world where adults can legally use, possess, and grow small quantities of marijuana. (In the Netherlands, marijuana is not officially legal.)“

And now, when newspaper publish it, it must be true :) I'm happy that I live in such a progressive country.

Wallpapers

With all the team work I have done recently I saw a lot of different laptops with a lot of different wallpapers. It is surprising what people want to have at their desktop. I am sure it somehow refers to the personality of the owner. Now I am truly curious what my friends’ wallpapers look like.
Would you show me your wallpaper, please?
These are some of mine:

Hehe, I love weird pictures. The first one is from Armenia, the other from Tajikistan. And now it is your turn!

Euro-English

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English". In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter. In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where! more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away. By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v". During z fifz yer, z unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Z drem of united Urop vil finali kum tru. Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

I got the diploma

Yes, 5th May 2006 was the day when I got the official paper.
Yes,
15th December 2005 was the day when I passed the final exam.
Yes, I was waiting 140 days for the diploma.

Yes, it is just my fault that it took so long. I was supposed to get it already a week ago.

I just have to post the certificate of final exam as well. Watch that:
s celkovým výsledkem ... výborně.
That means: „overall result ... excellent“. Now, this makes me an excellent student, right?

Balloons

While solving a case study on event marketing we came to the following problem: Why have we never got any balloons in winter? Is it a technical problem or rather a life style issue? There might be complications with the low temperatures and the helium. Or just with the changes of temperatures when you take the balloon indoors. Or it is just because you could loose the balloon easily when you wear gloves. Or maybe people just don’t like balloons in winter.
I don’t know. Do you? Any suggestions? Tell me!

I’m a good girl (usually)

I guess I was too good for too long. Tuesday was the day when the bad side of my personality went wild again. Next time keep the straws away from me :)
Well, the whole picnic is probably one of those unbloggable events as there is still silence around the blogosphere even though it happened 2 days ago.

Free Monday, no exam

Yesterday again I found some time to forget about school and relax. We had a nice walk with Marťa. We even found time to obey the 1st May tradition and got kissed under the cherry tree. Thanks for cooperation, Marťa :)))

It was a positive day yesterday

After more than 15 hours of intensive discussions, trying & failing it seems we know what we are doing with our case study, which is a big step from the random attempts in past 3 weeks.
In the afternoon I had to work. First I was not really excited about that because I already hear another whoosh just behind the corner but it was soooo nice.... My task was to accompany 10 British pensioners in a minibus from Prague airport to Děčín where they got on a boat that took them on a river cruise (I guess to Germany).
1. Seeing my country through foreigners’ eyes again
2. The energy and stamina of those old people
3. Slaný, Budyně, České Středohoří, Střekov, Děčín
4. The sunset behind the mountains

5. The most interesting: what is so special about this?
